Miller's FlowersRacine – Bill J. Benicek, 64, left this world while spending time up north in God’s Country. It was a place where he loved to be and enjoy many family and friends. The hunting was always good and the time spent at the cabin were the best memories of his life. They will never be forgotten. “I believe I’ll have one more.”
Bill was born on July 21, 1952, the son of the late Jerome and Phyllis (nee: Pfeiffer) Benicek. He graduated from Washington Park High School, Class of 1971 and just celebrated their 45th class reunion. He retired from E.C. Styberg in 2014 after 41 years of service. Cha Ching was the saying. Bill was an avid Packers and Cubs fan.
In January of 1981, he married the love of his life, Sherley Sherman. They just celebrated their 35th anniversary in Las Vegas.
In addition to his wife, Sherley, he is survived by his sisters-in-law, Rosie Soens, Mary (Wayne) Roberts, Ardetta Sherman; his brother-in-law, Henry Sherman, Sr.; his nephews and nieces, Ryan Cramer (Bill’s godson), John, Rick and Randy Lunda, John and Joe Doyle, Chris and Sam (Bill’s godson) Lovdahl, Henry Sherman, Jr., Jacques and Dominique Pissard, Heather Benicek; four great nephews and nieces and two great-great nephews; his best friends, Phil Burmeister, John Lunda Jr., Ron Lovdahl and George Checki. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Tim Benicek; his sister, Nancy Cramer; grandparents, Rosalind and Jacob Pfeiffer, Bessie and John Benicek; his niece, Jennifer Cramer; his nephew, Billy Smith; his special aunt and second mother, Marianne (Ken) Christopherson; uncles, John (Jeannette) Benicek, Milton (Beverly) Benicek; as well as dear cousins.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the American Legion Harvey Funk Post 494 (4277 Hwy 41 East Frontage Road in Caledonia) on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 11:30 am until 1:00 p.m. for a time to meet and visit with his family A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will follow promptly at 1:00 p.m. All are encouraged to wear jeans and your favorite Packer shirt. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor have been suggested to the Health Care Network. A random act of kindness toward another is also highly suggested.
Thank you to all the daycare parents throughout the years. You’ve given us such joy to fill the sadness we had. Every child that came through the door (Caitlyn, Daryll, Brandon, Audrey, Jared, Cody, Katie, Nick, Jeremy, Jaylyn, Kayla, Tyler, Veleska, Eden, Blaike, Alaina, Randy, Katelynn, Alex, Amy, Logan, Caleb, Lukas, Jill, Kyle, Taylor, Morgan, Luka, Dakota, Sabastian and Nick) were like one of our children. We loved each and every one of you and always will.

To Bill’s Family,
I, too, graduated from Park High School, Class of ’71. Although we did not know each other well, we had some good laughs trying to guess, without looking at name tags, who people were. I am so glad we all got to see Bill & he got to see us. RIP, Bill.
Debra Cramer says
So sorry to hear about Billy. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
