Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. A visitation will take place on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Carol D. Townsend-Pearson age 53, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning September 7, 2022, comforted by her loving family.
Carol was born on May 9, 1969, in Racine, Wisconsin to Lady D. Townsend and Willie B. Pearson. Carol received Christ at an early age at Midtown Church of Christ in Racine, WI.
Carol received her formal education at Washington Park High School and went on to continue her education at Gateway Technical College, Racine, WI where she made the dean’s list. Carol worked various jobs in the health care industry and administration, lastly working for Open Arm Adult Family Home in Racine, WI.
Carol relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she continued her career. She took special interest in caring for others. Carol started her family while residing in Michigan which was her greatest joy in life. Carol had a vibrant personality and loved spending time with her family, playing cards, and being life of the party. To those she loved, she was the ultimate protector and made sure everyone knew it. Carol had a way of delegating duties and letting her expectations be known. The way to her heart was through a good meal and shared conversation with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carol leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Leslie Townsend, Cilicia Hendricks, Mycheal Hendricks, Kalel Hendricks all of Racine, WI; Sister, Katina Townsend, Racine, WI; brothers, Lemon Townsend, Houlka, Mississippi, Michael (Bridgette) Townsend, Shawn (Cassie) Kelly, of Racine, WI, Wayne Pearson, Pontotoc, Mississippi, and Arthur (wife) Pearson, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Carol was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred Townsend Sr., Emma D. Townsend and Willie A Pearson, Mayme Lee Pearson.
