Racine- Casey Lee Jones-Dumas, 16, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Sunday morning, September 28, 2008 after arriving with a critically low blood-sugar level. Casey was born in Racine on December 31, 1991. He received his education from the schools of Jefferson Lighthouse, McKinley and Washington Park. Casey was a faithful and devoted member of True Life Ministries. He was employed by TLC Day Care, at the church, as a tireless maintenance technician. Casey had a profound faith of his Lord and loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed playing basketball, bowling, cooking, shooting pool and was a natural born comedian. His infectious laughter warmed the hearts of all his treasured family and friends. Surviving are his daughter, Jazlene Christine Jones; his second child, of whom Casey was anxiously awaiting the birth of in early 2009; parents, Gandee and Michael Dumas; loving girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Miranda Perales; brothers and sister, Trevian Michael Dumas; Ariana Elizabeth Dumas; Tyrique and Ty’Juan Jones; grandparents, Phyllis and Arthur Cark; God-parents, Jorena and Emmanuel McKinstry; and by many, many adored aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. Casey was preceded in death by his grandmother, Katherine Dumas; and great-grandparents, Samuel and Katie Dumas; and Richard and Virginia Draves. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 1 pm with Rev. Jeffrey M. Butler and Rev. Frank James officiating. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to continue celebrating Casey’s life at a reception held at True Life Ministries (9605 Spring St.) immediately following the cemetery service. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 11 am – 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the “Casey Jones Memorial Fund”, which has been established at all Bank of Elmwood locations to offset expenses, has been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to the first responders of Racine Police & Fire; to the compassionate staff of WFH-All Saints ER for doing everything in their powers in trying to save our Casey; and to our family at True Life Ministries for standing by our sides during this awful tragedy. God bless all of you!

I send all my condolences to Casey’s family. I am one of Miranda’s cousins and a friend of Casey’s. This unexpected loss has effected me greatly. My family and I are here for you Miranda and Casey’s family. Casey was like my little cousin. He was at every family party we had. Life won’t be the same without you Casey, but you will never be forgotten. And I promise your babies will know who their daddy is, i will help take care of them. I love you Casey!!

You truly were an angel
sent from God in heaven above.
Your shocking death just broke the hearts of everyone you loved.
When I found out that you had died
I thought that they were wrong.
You were so alive – and then
just like that, you were gone.
A flame blown out in seconds,
Confirming our worst fears –
A light that shines no more on earth
for which we shed many tears.
But still you are my beacon
And I need you right now.
You hear all the prayers I say
Because they are answered somehow.
I wish that you could be here,
But in a way you are.
Your symbol of a rose goes everywhere with me,
so I know you can’t be far.
It still is quite a shock to me
that you had to die;
But no one will forget you
And I love you, and goodbye.
