
Catherine E. Iverson-Kressig, 50, passed away unexpectedly in the Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints ER, on Friday, April 8, 2011. Catherine was born in Racine on October 11, 1960 the daughter of William and Patricia (nee: McKinnon) Iverson.
Catherine was a graduate of J.I. Case High School. She had been employed by the Piggly Wiggly stores for over 13 years, last working on Washington Ave. She was a member of Local # 1473. Catherine enjoyed all kinds of crafts, especially beading and crocheting.
Surviving are her children, Katie Marie Kressig, and Cory Gogolan; parents, Bill and Pat Iverson; sisters, Michelle Iverson and Lynda Schlitz, all of Racine. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. Catherine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Margaret and Peter McKinnon-Dolenz, and Herman and Lillian Iverson. Her former husband, James Kressig, also preceded her in death on September 26, 2010.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., on Thursday, April 14th; at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to the family, and they will establish a memorial at a later date.
