Kenosha (formerly of Racine) – Charles Franklin Bach, Jr., age 92, passed away peacefully at home, with family at his side, on Sunday afternoon, April 18, 2021.
One of 3 sons, Charles was born in Kenosha on July 8, 1928 to the late Charles and Harriet (nee: Manske) Bach, Sr. A graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School, Charles faithfully served our country with the United States Marine Corps from 1946-1948. Shortly after, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Theresa “Tess” (nee: Funk) on June 18, 1949 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sturtevant.
With a profound work ethic, Charles was employed by Wisconsin Bell Telephone for over 35 years, retiring as Chief Administrator of Communications in 1985. In retirement, Charles & Tess spent 25 wonderful winters in St. George, Utah. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Kenosha Moose Lodge #286. To say the least, Charles was an extreme Wisconsin sports fan – Brewers, Packers, Badgers & Bucks. He was a self-proclaimed assistant manager, advisor & critic for the Brewers and never missed the most important sporting event of the year: Army vs. Navy football game. Charles was also quite the golfer, having won the Senior Golf Championship at Washington Park “Muni” Golf Course. Above all, Charles loved spending time with his entire family & circle of friends.

I remember MR. BACH, as I knew him, as STILL a MARINE, while growing up on Grange Ave. In Racine as a kid. We lived two houses apart, and of course ALL of the Bach kids were my friends, regardless of age difference, but Son Jim Is my best friend, and alway’s will be. Back to MR. BACH the MARINE, I don’t know just how many years It took him to get that MARINE out of his blood, but I knew he could climb a telephone pole WITHOUT spikes If necessary. Frankly, he scared the heck out of me. I saw he and MRS. BACH In the backyard, while driving down our old alley, while visiting the old neighborhood, and stopped, to chat, and they were the the sweetest couple you would have ever met. I think he “mellowed” as they say. “Friends In Love” that’s what they were. Some 30 plus years later, I saw MOST of the bunch at Chula Vista Resort In WI. Dell’s, and they were all having a swimming party In the pool area. I walked In, and Chuck was In the Hot Tub enjoying himself. Everybody else was lined up In chairs watching the little kids having a ball. I saw Mrs. Bach, Luann, Jim, Jeff, and Pete. John was still shoveling snow In Hurley at the time. Anyhow, that was the last time I saw Luann, Mrs. Bach, and Chuck. Now the three of them are together once again, and I understand that Chuck demanded on his last day here, that Carol Bach Is now In CHARGE, she shall be the new Matriarch, which Is a good choice, but finally, to ALL of the Bachs, my SINCERE condolences for the loss of the FATHER that taught all of you to be the successful, and wonderful people you have become. God Bless all of you.

This Uncle was wonderful. Always had a “wink” for those he loved.
