Racine – Charlotte Marie Osenga, 69, passed away unexpectedly at All Saints Hospital on Monday, April 13, 2009. She was born on December 29, 1939 in Milwaukee, daughter of Albert and Annabelle (nee: Groff) Huff. She was a graduate of South Division High School. On September 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to Marvin A. Osenga in St. Martini’s Lutheran Church. She had been a Racine resident since 1960. Charlotte was an integral part of the local music community, where she sang with the Racine Choral Arts Society, Carthage College Choir, and the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church Choir. Her talents extended beyond her voice, as she was also an accomplished artist in many media. She enjoyed photography, illustrating, and scrap booking. Charlotte had an affinity for collecting angels, and loved her cats. She was a loving wife and mother who was very proud of her family. Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Osenga; her daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Jeff Byers, Debbie, and Eric Heaps; grandchildren, Heidi Byers, and Adam Heaps; mother, Annabelle Huff; sister and brother-in-law, Diann and Charlie Hostettler; sister-in-law, Marion Osenga; nephew, Brian Hostettler, niece, Lori (and Sebastian) Stanciu. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Huff. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Charlotte will be interred at North Cape Lutheran Church Cemetery in a private ceremony. Memorials to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church have been suggested. I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an “after glow” of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the way, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, of happy memories that I leave now that life is done.
