Christopher Mark Andersen

vet
Jul 30, 1960 – Aug 11, 2014

Caledonia – Christopher Mark Andersen, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 11, 2014.  He was born in Racine on July 30, 1960, son of David and Dawn (nee: Kerner) Hassel.

Chris graduated from Park High School in 1978.  He proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Army.  Chris was self-employed and owned a tree service called Project Andersen.  He enjoyed gardening and riding his Harley.  Chris was an avid fan of Harley-Davidson and was a member of HOG (Harley Owners Group).  Chris will be dearly missed.

Chris leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Jody Andersen; daughter, Kali Andersen; step-daughters, Chelsea and Danielle Sullivan; parents, David and Dawn Hassel; in-laws, Dan (Judy) Rasmussen, Sandra (Roger) Hetrick; brothers, Gregg C. Hassell, Jason (Sarah) Hassel; sisters-in-law, Karen (Dan) Cramer, Jill Rasmussen, Kris (Luc) Nadeau; aunt, Elaine (John) Howell; nephews, David and Max Hassel; special friends, John (Julia) Gonzales, Kevin (Lorie) Giese, Michael Giese, Ryan Cramer, Sandra Mickelsen (mother of Kali); canine companions, Gus and Toby; feline companion, Micah; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles (Jean) Kerner, Frank (LaVerne) Zuba; and brother, Troy David Hassel.

A celebration of Chris’s life will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2014, 1:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.  As Chris loved all things Harley-Davidson, please feel free to wear your Harley attire (or black and orange) to his celebration of life.

Chris, Our friendship goes back a long way in fact to grade school and not to mention we shared a Birthday. You were such a great friend, Dad, Neighbor and such a very kind hearted and generous person. We will miss those Harley sounds coming up our driveway and the way you layed on your horn for at least a mile in any vehicle you happened to be driving while going by our house…That was your way of saying “Hello” …I personally will miss our Birthday calls every year to each other it was always a race to see who would be the first one to call..At least this year we got together, You and Jody and Kevin and I to celebrate with Steaks and Cake..That is a memory we will cherish forever..This tragedy has left a huge void for all of us..We will miss you and think of you always..Give my baby (your dog)and one of my faves Max a big hug from me.. As Kevin gave you the nickname Jesus with your long hair..We know that you are now in the arms of Jesus…and resting peacefully…Until we meet again my friend the memories will have to suffice…Love you…Lorie, Kevin and Michael Giese

Words cannot express the loss we feel with Chris’ passing. Though we didn’t see each other as often as we should, the memories will be lasting, especially for “Juan” and your trip to Sturgis. Each time we are on the bike, you will be right there with us! You will be missed greatly in so many ways!

So hard to believe you’re gone Cousin (my dearest quaison crack). I have so many good memories of growing up with you and of our Saturdays at grandma Doris and grandpa Harry Andersen’s house. I’ve always said, you were my first friend. We used to play and play and play!!!! We were such goofy dumb kids, but we sure had fun (Sorry Kimmie Kay for being brats to you! It’s all part of being the little sister.) Give grandma and grandpa a big kiss and hug for me and for Phyllis! And pat grandpa Harry’s hair too ok? I wish I could have seen you when “Auntie Joan” and I came out and saw Jim and Nancy. (Ya look just like your dad!) You’re joining all the good ones are in Heaven now Quay. Enjoy the Kringle with grandma Doris and grandpa Harry, Anna and Oscar, Ingy and Bea and Al. You’re having an Andersen family reunion in Heaven!

Testimonials

May 22, 2019

We recently used Draeger-Langendorf’s services for my grandmothers funeral and we are so thankful for Mike and the rest of the staffs help. They made the whole process easy and never urged us to make a certain choice. They were very informative of how the service was going to go and always made sure we knew what was going on. To our surprise Mike Langendorf was there singing in the choir during the funeral and it really made us feel like he truly cared about us. Such a fantastic singing voice! Amazing people to have helping plan during a hard time, would highly recommend.
