RACINE – Clarence Carl Petersen, 92, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints on Monday, March 21, 2016.
He was born in Sturtevant, WI on March 13, 1924, the son of the late Clarence and Cora (nee: Harmann) Petersen. He served his country with the US Navy during WWII. On May 29, 1948 he married Dorothy A. Hintz. She preceded him in death on August 24, 1998.
Clarence retired from Racine Unified School District in 1988 after serving many years as a custodian. He loved working in his yard, feeding and tending to the backyard birds and sitting quietly reading.
Clarence is survived by his daughter, Gail Petersen; his son, Gary (Sandy) Petersen both of Racine; his sister, Carol (Bob) Banks of Racine; his nieces and nephew, Barbara Banks of Racine, Rick Banks and Pat Banks both of northern Wisconsin.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday evening, March 25, 2016 for a visitation and time to meet with his family from 4-6 p.m. A private service and interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
