In memory of Consuelo, offer a kind deed to someone in need.

Racine – Consuelo Quiroz Velasquez, age 87, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded with the love of her family, on Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Consuelo was born in Austin, Texas on October 30, 1933 to the late Antonio and Rita (nee: Esquivel) Quiroz. On September 20, 1952 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Francisco “Frank” Cordova Velasquez. Her heart was broken when he passed away on April 15, 2013.
Consuelo enriched our community with a Master’s degree as a bilingual educator with Racine Unified School District for over 25 years. Devoted to her Catholic faith, especially to the Virgin Mary, Consuelo prayed the Rosary every single day at 2 pm. Among her interests, she enjoyed bowling, casino, Bingo, slot machines, and extreme Green Bay Packers fan. Above all, she loved & cherished spending time with her entire family.
Surviving are her ten beloved children, Frank Q. (Kim) Velasquez, Gilbert Q. Velasquez, Mario Q. Velasquez (Addie Strong), Antonio Q. Velasquez (Karen Peters), Linda Dunkerly (John R. Spears), Benigno Q. Velasquez, Virginia Salazar (Donald Hinton), Victoria Velasquez (Robert Falbo), Ravi (Julie) Velasquez and Leonard R. (Lisa) Velasquez; 24 grandchildren; many adored great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren; sister, Guadalupe Limon; brothers, Antonio (Isabel) Quiroz, Jr. and Roberto Quiroz; special nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends- too many to mention all by name.
Consuelo was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Antonio & Rita Quiroz; husband, Francisco “Frank” Velasquez; daughter, Diana Velasquez; and by her brothers & sisters, Alex Quiroz, Gumezinda Quiroz, Sisto Quiroz, Victoria Limon, Ramona Cruz and Paul Quiroz.

To the Velasquez family. I bowled with Connie and Frank for many years. Connie always had a smile and friendly greeting to everyone. We became friends and I have enjoyed her whenever our paths crossed. I will forever remember the fun we had during and after bowling hours. Oh the headaches I had the next morning! Tony, my prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of your mother.

To our dear Velasquez family. By now Tia Connie’s funeral services are done. Some of the pain has gone away but not the hurt knowing she will not be here physically will remain. We will miss her dearly but each n everyone of us have different memories of her which we will cherish always. My memory is the first time I saw her sitting on the porch where they lived on Center Street, I must of been around 10 or 11 yrs old and back then she was a smoker and I remember her flicking the ashes in the palm of her hand, at that time I never imagined that she would be my Tia, she was just a friend of my mom, but yrs later I married Ruben and she became my Tia. She always made me laugh when I would see her. She was little but a strong woman like my mother in law Josie. We Love her and will miss her dearly.❤❤
