Darlene Helen Andes, age 91, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on February 6, 2025.
She was born on September 27, 1933 in Racine, WI, daughter of the late Alvin and Julia Jensen. On March 18, 1955, Darlene united in marriage to the late John (Johann) Andes at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Racine, WI.
Darlene was a cherished Avon lady and later worked at Ametek in quality control, retiring after 27 years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of Pentecost Lutheran Church and was known for her unwavering generosity. Darlene had a heart that never waited for opportunities to give; she always gave freely and with love.
Darlene treasured the many trips she took with her late husband. In her younger years, she was quite the ball player and even had the joy of coaching. She also enjoyed playing slots at the casino and card games with friends and family. Darlene’s eyes sparkled with joy whenever she listened to music or cheered her loved ones on in sporting events. The happiness she found in others’ successes, her encouragement, and unwavering support will forever inspire those blessed to have known her.
Darlene is survived by her son, Todd (Loree) Andes of Mount Pleasant; her grandchildren Johann (Auburn) Andes and Heidi (Jake) Koll; her great-grandchildren Brody, Jacob, Andee, Beckham, and John; her sister-in-law Monika Andes; and her niece and nephews.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, sportsmanship, and love that will be remembered by all who knew her.
