
~~Racine – David Wayne Williams, age 57, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 10, 2015. He was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on June 27, 1958 to the late James Williams and Margret Annette Hunt. David was united in marriage to Jeanette (nee: Hopkins) on July 31, 1993. He was an active member at Compassion Tabernacle, under the leadership of Pastor, Elder John Smith and First Lady Amanda Smith. He faithfully served as Deacon, Choir member, President of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, and he was always eager to serve and done whatever his hands found to do. He was a dedicated professional mover and truck driver for more than twenty years. Two of his several experiences were Merchants Moving and Storage Inc. and Seledon Trucking Co. David was preceded in death by his parents, James Williams and Margret Hunt; grandparents, Andrew Strong and Carrie Strong. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and beloved wife of 22 years, Jeanette Williams; five children, David Williams Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; Darrell Williams, Derrell Williams, Matthias Williams, Aleeshia Kayvon Williams and Darion Maurice Williams, all of Racine; siblings, Carolyn Williams, Janice Williams, Marino (Linda) Williams, Lamontae (Amy) Williams, of Los Angeles, CA; Francis Williams, Melvin Williams, Eddie Williams, all of Racine, WI; Ruth Williams and Sarah Williams of Minneapolis, MN; aunts, Louise Hunter, Virginia Lackey, and Mary Strong, all of Racine. He also leaves to cherish his memory 2 grandchildren, Kyrell J. Williams and Daveaya Serenity McClane-Williams, both of Racine; sisters and brothers -in-laws, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
A Celebration of David’s Homegoing will be held at Compassion Tabernacle UHCOA (2044 Mead Street) on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Viewing will be in the church on Saturday from 8:00 – 10:00 am.
