Miller's FlowersRACINE – Diane P. Mahlandt, 78, of Racine, was born April 8, 1938 and passed away peacefully on October 22nd, 2016 at Casa Del Mare Memory Care in Kenosha surrounded by her loving family.
She was united in marriage with Robert Mahlandt and had four beautiful daughters. She spent her life caring for her family. She was a teacher for Head Start, which eventually led to her opening and running her own state licensed daycare. She loved enjoying the outdoors by gardening and walking, decorating, helping others, and was heavily involved in Bible studies at her church.
She is survived by her four daughters, Wendy (Marc) Thompson, Kelly Tuinstra (Perry Cooper), Lori (Scott) Hoffman, and Patti (Ron) Butts; fourteen grandchildren, Joshua (Alyssa), Jenni, Kara, Ryne (Skaidra), Christian (Maya), Justin (Veronika), Nicholas (Janel), Carley (Jesse), Riley, Logan, Casi (Andrew), Courtney (Brett), Carson, and Carolyn; five great-grandchildren, Skylar, Klayton, Kovas, Layla, and Avery; two brothers, Tom (Colleen) McCarthy, Joe (Norma) Wicinski; one sister, Joan Sackett; one uncle, Louie Johnson; nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel Psicihulis and Dennis McCarthy, and one brother, Rick Wicinski.
Family and friends are invited to meet at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church (1700 South Green Bay Rd. Mount Pleasant) on Friday, October 28, 2016, for a visitation from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. A service celebrating her life will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Krista Zimmerman officiating. Her interment will take place afterward at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family will establish a memorial in Diane’s name at a later time.
The family would like to thank the staff of Casa Del Mare Memory Care for all of their love and care for Diane over the last four years. Also the family would like to thank Hospice Alliance for their support during the passing of our mother.

We will miss you our beautiful Diane so much we know you are at peace our sweet angel you will be sadly missed your girls are sad that you are not with them i know you will give your girls the strength to carry on your daughters and your girlfriends at casa we love and miss u dearly sweet heart
