Dorothy A. Lomasney, 76, passed away unexpectedly at her residence, on Sunday, November 12, 2017. Dorothy was born in Ethan, South Dakota on November 30, 1940 the daughter of the late Sebastian and Celestine (nee: Coyne) Hying.
Dorothy had been employed at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Racine Bible Church, where she volunteered in several ministries. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and camping, as well as various craft activities.
Surviving are her children, Joe (Barb) Lomasney, Karen (Jeff) Servi, Dennis (Jill) Lomasney; grandchildren, Jennifer (Roy) Hilo, Nicole (Sean) Holub, Krystal Servi, Ruth Ann (Nic) Brown, Matthew (Ashley) Lomasney; great grandchildren, Grace, Haley, Aiden, Logan, Charlotte, Karli, Dakota, and Bennett; siblings, Robert (Mary) Hying, Vincent ( Marie) Hying, Virginia Mulholland, Rosemary (Tony) Misslich, Lynn (Ed) Davis; and sister-in-law, Paula Hying. Dorothy was predeceased by her brother, Larry Hying and sister, Dolores Badr.
The funeral service will be held in the Racine Bible Church, 12505 Spring St., on Friday, November 17th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Darien Bowers officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial service will take place in Graceland Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Racine Bible Church Missions Fund.

My prayers and sympathy to the whole family. I sure enjoyed our day at Jim’s boat with her and Patty this summer, and the visit at Dorothy’s home after. May she rest in peace. I won’t be able to make it to the funeral, because of other obligations, but will keep her in my thoughts tomorrow.
