Service Details

A celebration of Dorothy’s life and homegoing will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2021, 11:00am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Melvin Hargrove officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will occur on Monday, January 10, 2022, 11:00am at Graceland Cemetery.

Dorothy Lee Williams, 65, received the promise of eternal life on Sunday, December 19, 2021.  She was born in Glendora, MS, on December 2, 1956 to the late Elizabeth Williams.

Dorothy spent her early childhood in Chicago, Il, where she developed a passion for helping others.  Realizing this passion, Dorothy began her career as an in-home care giver at the early age of 16.   Over the next twenty (20) plus years, Dorothy provided exceptional tender loving care to numerous families in need of her assistance.  As Dorothy entered into her late thirty’s (30), she gradually lost her hearing, upon which time she transitioned into becoming a nanny.  Dorothy dedicated the next phase of her life helping family and friends raise their children, providing an abundance of love and guidance to all who had the privilege of being in her care.  Although Dorothy had no biological children of her own, she was a mother to all.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters, Elizabeth Manns of
Racine, WI and Eveline Williams of Milwaukee, WI.  Her dear friend and confidant Donzell Holt of Racine, WI.  The pillar of the family her Aunt Christine Zellers of Chicago, IL and close childhood friend Justine Carpenter of Milwaukee, WI as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Williams, brother Jimmie Williams and sister Ruth Beard.
