I will miss Terry. I got to know him very well. I’m so sad to have heard about his falling to sleep in death. Revelation 21:3,4 was a very familiar hopeful scripture that Terry knew all to well. May your family be comforted and supported during your loss.

Curt Nelson says
I first met Terry when he visited a friend that lived above us. He has popped into my life ever since. He has that effect.
I mentioned to him, I go out with my dad every Saturday night (my dad is 90 years old, they call him Red) so he said he would like to come (I am sure it made him think of his dad, being so far away) One day I invited him with and he showed up at the wine knot and by the time the evening was done, he was calling my dad, dad.
Just like Jesus say, he is the god of the living, so also
I will see Terry again. Mathew 22:32 We will pick up, were we left off.
My Love goes out to the family

My big brother! That’s what I called you. It’s who you were to me. I miss you and I wish I had one more chance to tell you how much you meant to me. You taught me centuries in just the few moments I shared with you. Everyday I wake up wishing/hoping its just a nightmare I had the night before only to be devastated at the reality. I know it’s a wicked world but I’m mad because I can’t help to think that God shouldn’t have let it happen. To be honest I don’t know what the future holds and I don’t know if I get to see you again but you’d always be in my heart big brother. I bless your memory. Love you forever.

Moeko Watanabe Svare says
I feel fortunate that I have met you through my TLE program at Carthage College. You’d always been kind and helped me in my transition to living and working in the US, and in Kenosha, WI, my first time living abroad. My English command was much worse back then, but you were always very patient and understood me. Some of kind words you gave when I struggled in my graduate studies and life lived inside me for a long time and kept encouraging me even now.
You were also an inspiring educator who always pursued new career paths and practicing life-long learning. I’ve never met anyone who loves studying as much as you did. Also, you were always very courageous to take the new job opportunity for your career. I strongly believe that one of the big reasons I could get my current job is because of Terry. The picture I took with you at my Carthage graduation in 2009 has been always decorated in my parents’ house in Japan, and my parents also really appreciated you.
After I got a job in California, it was not easy to see you, but I always appreciated you being my great friend. Last time I saw you was in Milwaukee in 2017, and you told me how tall your sons had become. You always talked about your sons and family, and I feel really sorry for your family. I deeply think about them.
Simone Jones - KUSD Recreation Dept. says
To the family, I pray for your comfort and understanding at this dark hour. May the fond memories live on within each of you forever of his kindness, encouraging and motivational spirit. He truly made a difference in so many people’s lives.
To Max, it was a pleasure working with you in the Summer Tennis Program. Your dad was so proud of you and your brother.

I was Terry’s roommate for 3 years at UW-Whitewater. If in doubt I still say “what would Terry do”. So devastated hearing of his passing. It’s been 33 years and would be honored to speak with his family (brother Nate) if anyone can share my contact information 262-215-5008. I can share stories of our 37 hour car ride to south padre for spring break. Rest In Piece T.
Patrick Fry says
I’m sad that this is 3 years too late, but I had the opportunity to meet and know Terry at a very difficult time for me. His calm presence and his warmth helped me through. I wrote to him recently to thank him and learned of his passing. I can imagine how much his loss must still be felt by those who knew him better than I. My sincere condolences.
