MOUNT PLEASANT – Elaine Marie Schneider passed into the presence of her Lord on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021.
Elaine was born to John Hubert and Wilma (Strohmeyer) Schneider in Milwaukee on November 17th, 1938. After the family moved to LaCrosse, she graduated from St. Aquinas High School in 1957. Elaine worked at Southern Colony in Union Grove for 21 years, devoting herself to her beloved boys of Cottage 13 and Garner Hall Unit D. Later, she was employed as a case manager for Racine County Human Services. In her retirement, she spent two years homeschooling the four sons of a missionary couple in Albania.
Elaine’s faith brought her through many situations, some that were difficult. Elaine was a member of Racine Fellowship for almost 45 years. She hosted a women’s Bible study in her home and taught 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School. For many years, she was the birthday/anniversary card lady, sending many encouraging messages. Elaine loved and enjoyed birds, dogs, cats and fishing. She was always helping someone with transportation or shopping needs and will be greatly missed.
Elaine is survived by her brother, Jim (Janice) Schneider of Texas and sister, Carol (Dick) Horzempa of Pewaukee, eleven nieces and nephews and many extended family members along with four God children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Edward Schneider and his wife and a nephew.
A private interment will take place at the LaCrosse Catholic Cemetery.
Heartfelt thanks and appreciation are extended to the staff at Pleasant Point Senior Living and Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care.

Elaine was one of the sweetest person! My family had the privilege of receiving birthday cards, and anniversary cards from Elaine. She would put a personal note the Lord gave her in each card. Those notes meant more than anything else I got on my birthday.
