MOUNT PLEASANT – Eleanore J. Becker, 85, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, December 24, 2016.
She was born in Racine on February 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Sam and Ann (nee: Cymboluk) Solovey. Eleanore graduated from Washington Park High School in 1949. On November 24, 1956, she married Richard Otis “R.O.” Becker. Together they owned and operated Becker Investments and worked as real estate developers for 60 years.
Eleanore belonged to Kenosha Country Club for over 35 years. She also enjoyed golfing, antiquing and shopping. However she was happiest when in the company of her family.
In addition to her loving husband, Richard, she is survived by her children, Jon (Patricia) Becker of Kenosha, Marc Becker of Florida, Leah Becker of Union Grove; her grandchildren, Ashlyn Erin Hanson, Sarah Marie Becker, Jonathan Richard Becker Lexi Anne Dessart, Landon Richard Becker Dessart; her brother and sister, Edward (Lucy) Solovey of Kenosha, Karen Magdech of Alabama; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2016 for a visitation from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A service honoring and celebrating her life will follow at 1:00 p.m. Her entombment will take place afterward in the Graceland Cemetery Garden Crypts. A heartfelt thank you to the 911 emergency dispatcher as well as the Mount Pleasant Police/Fire and Rescue Departments for their professional services they provided.
