Petals by FeliciaRacine, WI. – Elijah Emmanuel Spann was born on March 31, 1994, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He is the son of Mildred Marie Spann and Demitrius Giotti Mclendon.
He was educated in the Kenosha/Racine area.
Elijah accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 7. He was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Elijah was a kind, compassionate, and loving person. He enjoyed giving to others. He always carried food and water in his backpack to give away. He was always concerned about how others were doing. His favorite saying, “Are you ok?”
Elijah loved listening to music and taking care of his hair. He would spend countless hours in the mirror putting rubber bands in his hair and next he would braid it. He enjoyed reading his bible and having discussion about it. Elijah was unique in his own way.
Elijah leaves to cherish his memory his parents Mildred Marie Spann and Demitrius Giotti Mclendon; 8 siblings Isaiah Mclendon, Giovanni Mclendon-Ryles, Brianna Goodman, Brittany Goodman, Demitrius Mclendon, Giotti Mclendon, Nadia Mclendon and Maverick Mclendon; his maternal grandfather Levi Spann II and paternal grandparents Irone Mclendon and Stephen L. Mclendon. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Elijah goes on to join his maternal grandmother Dorothy Jean Spann and his paternal great-grandmother Claudia Bivins, as well as many other family and friends who have preceded him in glory.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 11:00am at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1123 Center St., Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the church 10:00am – 11:00am. Interment will take place in Green Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
