Service Details
Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, October 21st, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. William Dietzler officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32.

Elizabeth “Betsy” Costello, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away at Seasons Hospice-Ignite, in Oak Creek, on Sunday, October 17, 2021, after facing a series of physical challenges. Betsy was born in Racine on August 2, 1937, the daughter of the late Mike and Eirwen (nee: Jones) Costello.
Betsy was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, Class of ’55. She and her parents were founding members of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She was employed by Walker Manufacturing for over 30 years, until finally retiring. Betsy was a Master Crocheter. She was a well known for her needlecraft skills. She was always making something for someone and was always willing to teach anyone her craft. She was an uplifting spirit to everyone she met and used it to inspire male offenders in the local prison. Betsy won the Governor’s Award for her leadership in the Outreach Ministry.
Surviving are her two nephews and their spouses, Michael (Julie Marks) Nelson, of Memphis, TN, and Jeff (Meryl Fury) Nelson, of Pleasant Prairie, WI: a great nephew, Ayo Nelson; and great niece, Kassandra Fury. In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Nelson.

Betsy was such a wonderful person! As Warden of the Racine Youthful Offender Correctional Facility, I was privileged to see her regularly as she volunteered so long with our inmates. Even coming into the prison from her wheelchair. She helped so many inmates and was such a pleasure to be with. Many fond memories for me!
