Miller's FlowersRACINE – Mrs. Elsie A. Hartman, 93, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
She was born in Sampson, WI on January 10, 1924, the daughter of the late Robert E. and Ethel V. (nee: Tallman) Taylor. On May 22, 1948 she married Paul H. Hartman in Bloomer, WI. They moved to Racine after they were married. Paul preceded her in death on January 24, 2007.
Mrs. Hartman was a longtime member of both Holy Name and St. Lucy Catholic Churches. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother that loved being in the company of her family. She also enjoyed volunteering with Paul at the JMBA.
Mrs. Hartman is survived by her daughter, Carol (Ron) Hoegsted of Sturtevant; her son, James Hartman of Racine; her grandchildren, Stephen, Brian, Annette, Matthew, Michelle, David, John and Michael; her great grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler, Cody, McKenzie, Mannuel, Peyten, Brooklyn, Ashten, Joslyn, David, John, Michael, Aaliyah and Emma; her great-great granddaughter, Kelsi; her sister, Loretta Erickson of Bloomer, WI; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Taylor, David Taylor, Ernest Taylor, Donald (Inez) Taylor; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sebastian and Margaret (nee: Deitche) Hartman; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elmer Erickson, Bernard and Jerome Hartman, Phyllis Hartman, Marie (Archie) Turner and Elsie Clausen.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church on Thursday, July 6, 2017 for a visitation from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. The celebration of Elsie’s life and funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. Her interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum after the Mass. Memorials have been suggested to St. Lucy Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Hartman family extends a heartfelt thank you to Vitas Hospice; especially her nurse, Sue and CNA’s Nohly and Kelly for the loving care and attention Elsie received.
