
Sturtevant– Emily Joan Paluch, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
Emily was born in Racine on June 4, 1920 to the late John and Rose (nee: Kollar) Paluch. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1938. Emily was employed as a well-respected and accomplished secretary at S.C. Johnson Wax until her retirement in 1983.
Emily was a faithful member of Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed participating in the 55+ Club. She was an award winning tennis player for most of her life and swam at the YMCA until well into her eighties. She had a zest for life and remained extremely active until the past few months.
Surviving are her sisters, Betty Bell and Eleanor Mahdik; nephews, Glenn (Deborah) Bell, Donald Bell and Allen Bell; great-nephew, Gary (Kari) Bell; great-great-nephews, Adam Peschel and Trevor Bell; step-nieces and nephew, Bonnie Smith, Kelly (Joe) Church and John Smith.
In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by her loving companion of many years, Clarence LeMere; brother-in-law, Harvey Bell; and great-nephew, John Bell.
Funeral services will be held in Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2213 Coolidge Avenue in Racine, on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11 am with Rev. Luke Jacob officiating. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10-11 am. In honor of the compassionate end-of-life care she received, memorials to Wheaton Franciscan Hospice has been suggested.
