Service Details
Services celebrating Gene’s life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 6:00PM. Military honors will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 4:00PM until the time of service.
Eugene Albert Kueny, age 71, passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Care Center on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Gene was born in Milwaukee, WI to John and Patricia (nee: Kaszuba) Kueny on October 23, 1952. A graduate from Boys Tech High School, Gene went to faithfully serve our country with the United States Marines in the Vietnam War. He earned his associate’s degree in Aircraft and Power Plant Mechanics from Gateway Technical College. He was a chief inspector for Part 145 FAA Repair Station. On December 26, 1981 Gene was united in marriage with Lisa Baumgardner. Among his interests, Gene loved riding his Harley; was an avid gardener; visited 7 Mile Fair whenever he could; enjoyed the gaming experience at Potawatomi Casino; first and foremost, spending time with his family.
Surviving are his loving wife, Lisa; daughter, Kristina “Tina” Kueny; grandchildren, Breanna, Jeremiah and Kaylin; great grandson, Carmelo; sisters and brother, Susan Kueny, Sheri (Harold) Deskins, Curtis (Felicia) Kueny; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, John and Patricia; brothers, John and Michael Kueny; nephew, Craig Kueny; Lisa’s parents, Robert and Darlene Baumgardner.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and staff with Hospice Alliance and Ridgewood Care Center for their compassionate care given to Gene.
