Gene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree); and of the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
Gene is survived by his wife, Jane Nixa; sisters, Rita (Luigi) Valeri of Kenosha, Tina (Vern) Wenger, Paula (Jim) Johnson; brother, Joe (Kathleen) Nixa; sister-in-law, Sandy Nixa all of Racine; brothers-in-law, Dr. Don Baxter of Baraboo, and Paul Baxter of Saginaw, Michigan; nieces and nephews, Margaret, and Angela Valeri, Louis (Carm) Valeri, Scott Nixa, Nicole Witt, Deborah Baxter, Nancy Keys, Jill Forbush, Scott, Brian, Terry, Tim, Mark, David, Michael, Glenn, and Kevin Baxter; as well as many dear friends. Michael Baxter says
Uncle Gene, you will be truly missed.
David Baxter says
Uncle Gene was one of the most lovable and fun guys a person could ever meet. He was never short of good joke or cribbage hand that would make him a hero to his partner and despised by his competitor. We will all miss you Gene!
Marlea Steiner says
Jane, I was so sorry to hear of Gene’e passing. You have my sympathy as well as other Alpha Delta Kappa sisters I am sure. I’ll call sometime soon. Our prayers are with you and your family.
