
Frances Eickhorst-Simonsen, 67, died unexpectedly in the Appleton Medical Center on Saturday, April 5, 2008. She was born in Racine on August 22, 1940, the daughter of the late William and Marie (nee: Konecny) Noll. Fran was a 1958 graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. She also attended the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She had been employed by the Spinning Wheel for over 21 years. Fran was a former member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Watersmeet, MI and a member of St. Patrick Parish in Lebanon, WI. She enjoyed traveling, baking and knitting. Surviving are her husband Alan E. Simonsen; her children, Sharon (Mark) Johnson of Racine, James (Deborah) Eickhorst of Bemidji, MN, and Linda (Robert) Hocutt of Racine; stepchildren, Thomas (Mary) Simonsen of Racine, Linda (Richard) Freitag of Waukesha, WI; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Danny) Trampe of Waukesha, Amy Hocutt of Racine, and Aaron Eickhorst of Bemidji, MN; step-grandchildren, Michael Simonsen of Milwaukee, Amy Simonsen of Racine, and Christina (Howard) Vredeveld of Lowell, WI; step-great-grandchildren, Melissa Makovec, Brandon and Kaden Vredeveld all of Lowell, WI; sister, Patricia (Theodore) Bannantine of New Berlin, brother-in-law Jerry Teska of Watertown, WI, stepbrother, Jeff (Candy) Kirt of New Berlin, stepsister, Sandy (Jeff) McDorman of Racine, brothers-in-law, Frank (Dorothy Veres) Simonsen of Denver, CO, and Ralph (Janice) Simonsen of Freemont, WI, sister-in-law Betty Simonsen of Racine. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents Fran was preceded in death by sister Katherine Teska and her brother-in-law Eugene Simonsen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., on Tuesday April 8th at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Private entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery Hy 32. The family has suggested memorials to St. Monica’s Senior Citizens Home.
