I met Gregg in 2nd grade and although we have only seen each other a couple of times over the last five years this really hits hard coming right after the passing of Greg Melby.
I am saddened by the fact that we will not be able to attend the celebration of Gregg’s life because we are in the process of moving from our winter home in Mississippi back to our summer home in Wisconsin.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who will be affected by this loss .
Janette Louden says
Gregg was my neighbor and friend. He was such a lovely man who always checked in on me. Generous with his time, you’d be hard pressed to find a nicer person. We shared many conversations and I feel so privileged to have been able to help him in small ways these past few months. I will miss him so much. I am so sorry I won’t be able to attend his funeral, but my thoughts are with all of his family and close friends. Gone too fast and too soon. x

I’m so sorry to hear of Gregg’s passing. Sincere condolences for Gregg’s family and friends. I’ve been working with Gregg at Yamaha and will truly miss having him around. Although due to us both working as remote field reps, I only got to really visit in person a couple times a year. Always looked forward to being around a person the caliber of Gregg. Always helpful, wealth of knowledge, witty, great sense of humor, great smile and laugh that went right along with his calm confidence. If I’d have lived closer to him, he’s the type of gentleman I would’ve hung out with more.
You’ll be missed! Rest in peace.

Gregg was one of a kind, always positive, friendly and found the time to help anytime you needed.
I considered him a close friend during my tenure at Yamaha and enjoyed hanging out, talking about MotoGP racing and about technical solutions to come up with solutions to keep our customers riding and having fun.
God speed Gregg, JoAnn, Rodd, Daytona, Kyle and Zac are sending our condolences to his family and friends and we’ll celebrate his life in a positive remembrance.

Gregg always had a smile going, and if he did not, it was very short lived. Working in service all your life is not an easy job. Gregg was often the one that had to deliver difficult information to the team. Gregg used his ability to influence the team around him and set a very high expectation for the product because he cared so deep. Gregg was a true professional at his craft and really set the standard for others to follow. Gregg knew how to process data like no other allowing him to solve a situation quickly. On rare occasions he was not working he would spend a week in the Minocqua area chasing bass. Credit Gregg teaching my kids how to fish bass. To this day my memories of Gregg is the kids asking when he would show up again in his “sparkly” boat. Gregg, in his appropriate service voice, would remind them that it was “metal flake” and we all would have a good laugh. Feel honored to call Gregg a friend!

Many blessings to Greggs family, over the years I have heard many stories about Greg Melby, Gregg Hillyer, and my husband Gary Ballewske, all their antics when they were younger! We did not find out about Gregg’s passing until today, wish we could have been there to support the family in such tough times!!
