As” Ace” would say to his loved ones, “Be safe and watch out for the bad guys”!
Harold “Ace” Lucas, age 77 of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Campus.
He was born October 21, 1943, in Oconto, WI, a son of the late Ralph and Arleen (Kafka) Lucas.
He received his education in the schools of Kenosha. He was born Harold Lucas, but most people knew him as “Ace”.
On September 5, 1981, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marsha Gerou, at Memorial United Methodist Church in Kenosha.
He was employed as a welder at Ladish Tri-Clover for 33 years. After retirement he worked at Maplecrest Country Club for a few years, and then worked for the City of Kenosha for 7 years.
Ace was a member of the Kenosha Car Club, Mis-shifts Car Club, WI/IL Border Crossers VTX Owners Association, Patriot Guard Riders, and the Warrior Watch.
He was a person who was not shy, and who loved attention. He absolutely embraced life and lived it to its fullest. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle any time possible, until he was no longer able due to his Parkinson’s Disease.
He loved sitting in his beloved garage with a beer and a neighbor, just chatting and enjoying their company. Ace could strike up a conversation with anyone, and relished talking to people, sharing stories, and sharing pictures of his life.
Ace also cherished his 1965 Chevy El Camino, taking it to every car show he possibly could. He won a trophy at nearly every car show he attended, and he proudly displayed them in his garage. He took great pleasure in cruising in his El Camino with his grandson, Ethan.
He loved Waylon Jennings and shared his love of Waylon with his granddaughter, Chloe.
He also enjoyed dancing, especially the Polka. He would drag anyone who knew how to Polka out on the dance floor with him.
Above all else, he loved his family. He was a devoted husband and father. He was also the World’s Best Papa to his grandkids. They were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Marsha; his children, Joshua (Stephanie) Lucas, Crystal (Matthew) Leys, Monica Leek, and Tim Lucas; grandchildren, Ethan Leys, Chloe Leys, Tim Bandor, and Kathleen Ferguson; brothers, Ronny (Martha) Lucas and Ray (Carolyn) Lucas; sisters, Dee (Dennis) Donlevy, Mary Andersen (Scott Hazen), Chris (Colin) Anderson, and Rosalie Barnett; sisters-in-law, Barb Lucas, and Mary Gabor; brothers-in-law, Herbert (Nadine) Gerou and Frank (Mary) Gerou. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Joseph and Marion Gerou; brothers, Ralph Lucas and Allen Lucas; sisters, Barb Lucas, Gail Nelson, and Edith Rush; son-in-law, Jordan Leek; brothers-in-law, James Gerou, Thomas Gerou, Larry Gerou, and Douglas Barnett; sister-in-law, Shirley Bartram, and nephews, Ronny “Dusty” Lucas, Todd Lucas, & Jeff Lucas.
The family would like to thank the staff at Froedtert South-Pleasant Prairie, for the care they provided for Ace in his final days.

Deb Smith says
I have fond memories of Ace from back in the day. My dad’s friend worked with Ace at Tri-Clover, and he told me how handy Ace was with fixing cars. I was on a tight budget. Ace cheerfully worked on my cars through the years, and during this time I became friends with him and Marsha. Long time ago, but I remember his infectious smile and how friendly he was. (He also saved my pocketbook.) I am sorry he is gone but the memories live on. One of the kindest people you could know.
