Kenosha- James Beggi, 89, passed away peacefully at Manor Care – Kenosha on Saturday, September 11, 2010.
Jim was born in Farmington, IL on February 14, 1921 to the late John and Cecilia (nee: Monari) Beggi. Following high school, he went on to faithfully serve our Country with the United States Army during WWII.
On November 25, 1950 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Jim was united in marriage with the love of his life, Virginia “Ginny” (nee: Camalo) Beggi. They were looking so forward to celebrating 60 years of marriage this year.
Jim was employed by Belle City / Racine Steel Castings for over 42 years, retiring in 1982. He was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church where he enjoyed being involved with the Lucyioners. Years ago, Jim was talented basketball player, a sport he stayed active until into his 40’s. He was also a gifted flower and vegetable gardener; and a diehard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Above all, Jim will be remembered for his outgoing and genuinely kind personality who loved being in the surroundings of his entire family and circle of friends.
Surviving are his loving wife, Ginny; son, John (Roseann) Beggi; daughter, Lysa (Sam) Heaton; granddaughters, Amanda and Sarah Beggi; sister, Gena Duiguid; sister-in-law, Claire Camalo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by Ginny’s parents, Salvatore and Louisa (nee: Christiano) Camalo; brothers-in-law, Mike (Annina) Camalo, Frank Camalo and Charles Duiguid; and sister-in-law, Mary Camalo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 12:00 noon in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 10 am – 12:00 noon. In memory of Jim, memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church have been suggested.
A heartfelt note of thanks to the entire staff of Manor Care in Kenosha for the compassionate care and support that was so warmly extended in Jim’s time of need. May God bless all of you!

Dear Beggi family, my husband & I had the privilage to get to know Mr. Beggi at Manor Care. We sang with a group on Wednesday nights & could always count on seeing his smiling face there. We wanted you to know how so very proud of his family he was & how much he loved to talk about his wife, children & grandchildren. I actually told him how much he reminded me of my father & he enjoyed hearing that. He had a special place in my heart with his playful nature. Everyone at Manor Care & our singing group will miss him! Gods Blessings to you & your family during this troublesome time. Our sincere condolences, Christine & Michael

Although I did not know James, I wanted to take a moment to extend my sympathy. So many haved experieced the pain of losing a loved one. May you take comfort in the Bible’s promise that in the near future Jesus will resurrect our loved ones just as he did when he was here on the earth, but under very different conditions. (Revelation 21:4; Psalm 37:11,29; John 5:28,29) It is my wish you will find comfort and hope from these thoughts in the Bible.
