
Norfolk, VA – James Donald Kressig, USN Retired, formerly of Racine, passed away on September 20, 2010 at the age of 53. He was born in Racine on June 11, 1957, son of the late John and Carol (nee: Peterson) Kressig.
Jim served more than 20 years in the Navy, and following his retirement remained in Norfolk to continue working for a navy contractor. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed grilling and preparing BBQ’s for friends, working with computers and electronics. Jim also loved movies, and had thousands of titles in his collection. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and displaced Packer fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie Marie Kressig; sisters, Alice Kressig and Barb Kressig; step-father, Ron (Karen Tyykila) Kroll; his former wife, Catherine Iverson-Kressig and her son, Cory Gogolin; step-brothers, Ron (Val) Kroll, Jr., Dean (Judith) Kroll, and Tim (Adelle) Kroll; his former father and mother-in-law, Bill and Pat Iverson; and former sisters-in-law, Michelle Iverson, and Linda Lee Schlitz; as well as many other relatives and friends.
All are invited to visit with his family in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 5pm-7pm. Complete services will take place at 2pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in the chapel of the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Military Honors will follow the service.
