Mt. Pleasant – James Florian Stulac, age 87, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, June 26, 2018 at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL while holding the hand of his beloved wife, Beverly.
Jim was born in Racine on April 4, 1931 to the late Frank and Stella (nee: Koniezko) Stulac. A 1949 graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, he faithfully served our Country with the United States Air Force from 1949 – 1953. On April 24, 1954 in St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Jim was united in marriage with Beverly Ann (nee: Kleiber).
With a profound work ethic, Jim was employed by Outboard Marine in Waukegan for over 42 years. He was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, National Rifle Association, Society of Automotive Engineers, Association for Finishing Processes and the American Legion Post 480 in Presque Isle, WI. Proud of his Village of Mount Pleasant, Jim had served on the Town Board of Trustees, the Sewer Commission and was a dedicated volunteer at the recycling center. As a private pilot, Jim was involved in the Experimental Aircraft Association and was a licensed aircraft mechanic. Since retirement, Jim and Bev enjoyed wintering (and have now become permanent residents) in Texas.
Surviving are his loving wife of over 64 years, Bev; their children, Barbara (Scott) Larrabee and James D. Stulac; grandchildren, Michael (Cherish) Larrabee and Jennifer (Cody) Schuld; great-grandchildren, Tyce and Klint Larrabee; niece, Francine (Len Jr.) Felske; nephew, Daniel Stulac; other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his dear son, Timothy James Stulac (passed away on May 30, 2002); brother, Frank (Cynthia) Stulac; and by Bev’s parents, Alex and Lydia (nee: Hlava) Kleiber.

My dearest cousin, God bless you at this time. I am so very sorry I cannot be there to support you in your time of need. I loved Jim so very much as you know. I missed having you here at Ma and Pa’s after we lost the 2 of them. It’s been so very lonely now. I hope you have lots of family support for you in your future. We sure had lots of fun and laughs with Jim. Just remember the good times Bev. Jim will always be close to your heart.
