Jack proudly worked in the family business, Mitek’s Tavern (17th Street in Racine) where he eventually co-owned and operated it – along with his brother, Charles. He also was employed by AMC, Eaton and General Electric – from where he retired in 1995.
Among his interests, Jack enjoyed fishing, making his own lures, buying every fishing item that was ever on sale, watching his extensive movie collection, and mostly spending time with family, and close friends.
Surviving are his children, Joseph (Lori) Mitek and Patti Robertson; grandchildren, Cara Jo (Ty) Christensen, Angela Mitek and Alexander (Courtney) Mitek; adopted granddaughter, Kelsey Patera; great-grandchildren, Seraphina Whimzy and Palmer Alexander; and sister, Connie Kuzel.
