RACINE – Mr. James L. McGee, 76, passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
He was born in Racine on March 15, 1937, the son of the late James W. and Eva E. (nee: Anderson) McGee.
Jim served his nation with the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. Upon returning to Racine he continued his education at U.W. Parkside and Carthage College. He retired in 1996 as a chemist in research and development at S.C. Johnson Wax after 30 years of employment.
Jim will be remembered by those who knew him as an avid outdoorsman. His passion in life was for hunting and fishing. Those that loved him will remember him as a dear husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (nee: Partridge) McGee of Racine; his children, Heather (John) Burhani of Kenosha, Brian (Audre) McGee of Oak Creek, Eva McGee of Racine, Debra McGee of Mequon; his grandchildren, Emily Burhani, Alexandra McGee, James McGee, Milton (Jennifer) Kapraelian, Melissa (Patrick) Kapraelian-Becker, Nicole (Jeff) Kraus, Seth Geyer; many great grandchildren; his siblings, Gwen (Don) Peterson, Bill (Sheila) McGee, Linda (Gary) Kroes all of Racine; his nephews, Bob (Renee) Peterson, David (Rhonda) Peterson, James (Katie) McGee, Billy McGee, Rob and Dan Kroes; as well as other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his infant sister, Gloria Jean McGee.
Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 for a visitation with the family from 5-7 p.m. A private service will take place at another time. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim’s name have been suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Salvation Army.
