Miller's FlowersRACINE – Janet Venegas (Davis), age 72, passed away on July 27, 2017. On November 20, 1944, Janet was born to Edward and Rose Kober (nee: Lenart) in Kenosha, WI. Janet was married to Raymond Venegas for 25 years. She worked at Surgitek.
Janet had a strong love for children. Prior to moving back to Wisconsin from California in 1979, she was a preschool teacher’s aide and a Sunday school teacher. In Racine, she enjoyed having the neighborhood kids over to decorate cookies and was known in the neighborhood as Grandma Jan. She was also very involved in volunteer work within the community at various shelters and enjoyed buying gifts for those less fortunate. She loved her church family at Living Faith Lutheran Church and looked forward to Senior Club. Regardless of being confined to a wheelchair, you could find Janet riding around Racine to go shopping, eating out at her favorite restaurants and going to the movies. Janet was a positive and giving person and nothing held her back from being social and enjoying life. She loved God and her family and looked at each new day as a gift.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters Sandra (Dave) Galis and Diana (Bill Jankowski) Haschker, her grandchildren Peter Haschker, Jessica France, Miranda France, Casey Haschker, and her great grandson Vincent Haschker. She is survived by her siblings Jim (Dorothy) Kober, Doris Lueckfeld, Gary (Judy) Kober, her nieces and nephews, David (Julie) Kober, Susan (Pete) Danowski, Dawn Lueckfeld, Laura (Rich) Van Swol and Elizabeth (Josh) Herman and her dear friends Mike and Mia Haumersen, and their children Mitchell and Lauren.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Raymond, his children Sylvia Venegas, Melinda Venegas, Raymond (Eileen) Venegas, his grandchildren Ruben Castillo, Jordan Nash, Kaitlyn Gardner, Raven Venegas, Jillian Venegas, Krysta Venegas, Richard Watson, Melinda Gordon, Daria Gordon, Liliana Gordon, Esai Gordon, Elijah Venegas, his great grandchildren, Leilani Kluess, Kavaya Gardner, Minho Ray Gordon and Ariella Sitter along with his brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are invited to meet at Living Faith Lutheran Church (2915 Wright Ave) on Thursday, August 3, 2017 for a visitation from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. A service remembering and celebrating Janet’s life will follow at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Warren Williams officiating. Her interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Please meet and wait at the front gate and we will process to the grave site.
