Julie’s Personal Touch
Racine – John Glen Ebert, 32, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. He was born in Racine on July 7, 1984, the son of Lynn (nee: McGowan) and Glen Ebert. Following his graduation from Case High School in 2002, John worked as a maintenance technician at the emission testing station, as a driver for Schneider Transportation; operated an ice cream truck route; worked at SC Johnson; and for the last four years was working at Badger Meter in Mt. Pleasant.
John enjoyed caring for his cats; cheering on the Brewers; listening to music, and playing bass guitar in several local bands; singing Karaoke; developing many friendships though the Racine Arts Council. John credited his eleven years in the scouting program as some of the most enjoyable years in his life.
John will be deeply missed by his parents: Lynn (Steve) Vanderheyden and Glen (Zdenka) Ebert both of Mt. Pleasant; grandmother Irene Miller of Burlington; step-sisters Alisson Gannaway and Amy Vanderheyden; step-brother Alex Vanderheyden; his aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marvin Steben, Maureen and Patrick McGowan.
A celebration of life will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Visitation from 4:30pm – 6:30pm followed by a memorial service led by John’s Aunt Maureen Jepsen. Family and friends are invited to wear their favorite Brewers sportswear. Donations in John’s memory to the Racine Arts Council have been suggested.
