
Joseph Muto, 90, died in Wheaton Franciscan Hospital- All Saints on Friday, January 4, 2008. He was born in Rend, Italy on February 22, 1917 the son of the late Frank and Angela Muto. In 1958, here in Racine, he was united in marriage to the former Elizabeth “Lisa” Chilleli. Mr. Muto had been employed by the J.I. Case Co. for over 33 years. He also owned and operated Muto’s Orthopedic Shoe Repair on Grand Ave. for several years. He late owned and operated Muto’s Pizza in Sturtevant for over 22 years. He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, the Case 20 Year Club, and a retiree of U.A.W. Local 180. Surviving are his wife Lisa; their sons, Robert (Karen) Muto of Racine, Frank (Kathy) Muto of Sturtevant; 4 grandsons, Christopher, Marcus (Samantha), Joseph and Mario; his great granddaughter Cali, and a sister, Emily (Joe) Noto of Rochester, NY. Other relatives, friends and customers further survive him. In addition to his parents his son Joseph S. Muto preceded him in death on December 21, 1985. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 7th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126-95th St. in Sturtevant, with Rev. Mark Molling officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and in the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.

My sympathy is with you in the loss of your father. I have always enjoyed talking with him as he walked down the street to the restaurant. He was a very special person.
