MOUNT PLEASANT – Joyce Ann Berens, 74, passed away at Ascension All Saints on December28, 2017.
She was born in Ishpeming, MI on June 13, 1943. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1961. On January 27, 1962, she married John William Berens at St. Casimir Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2011.
Joyce retired from Andis Company. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy. Joyce also participated as a pool league player with Racine Amusement for over 42 years. Known as “Mom” to many, she loved being in the company of her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, John F. Berens, Robert (Dana) Berens both of Racine, Michael (Jackie) Berens of Franklin, Kristine Berens of Racine; her nine grandchildren, Kayla, Justin, Emily, Hailey, Taylor, Alana, Hope, Zach, Ernie (Laura) and Jena; her five great grandchildren, Eden, Devlin, Daisy, Leilyn and Khale; her brothers and sisters, Bill “Hank” (Sharon) McGlynn of California, Kenny Rohan of Racine, Nancy (Brad) Stewart of Kenosha, Diana Hayes of Nevada, Cathy Rannow of Racine; her sister-in-law, Sheryl (Richard) Manhoff of New Berlin; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
Joyce was also preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Geraldine (nee: LaFave) Rohan.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2018 for a visitation from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A service celebrating her life will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to St. Lucy Catholic Church.
