Joyce Kathryn Sander, 78, died unexpectedly at All Saints Hospital on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. She was born on July 3, 1929, daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (nee: Bohn) Brehm. She was a lifetime resident of Racine, and graduated from St. Edward’s School and St. Catherine’s High School. On September 12, 1953 she was married in St. Edward’s Church to Werner A. Sander. Joyce was a proud wife and mother, and will be remembered by her family and friends for her loving ways and generosity to others. She was a faithful and active member of St. Edwards Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Altar Sodality, and the Funeral Guard. She is survived by her loving husband, Werner Sander; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sue Sander; granddaughter Julie Sander; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Jean Brehm, Charles and Jeanne Brehm; her cousin Marilyn Houdek; as well as many nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her sister, Delores. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2008 at St. Edwards Catholic Church with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Internment at Calvary Cemetery will follow. All are invited to visit the family in the church from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Memorials to St. Edwards Church have been suggested.
