
Racine – Juanita Rose Richter, 67, retired from her body early in the morning on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She is now hanging out with her Spiritual Homies and having a great time. Her vehicle for leaving was ALS.
At the age of 60, Juanita figured out what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She graduated from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master’s Degree in Chinese Medicine. She had been primarily practicing in Kenosha as an acupuncturist. She has also worked as a legal assistant, computer training manager, computer contract trainer, system administrator, court reporter, and business owner of Software City. Juanita lived most of her life in Wisconsin but for a brief time that she lived near Virginia Beach, VA.
Juanita is survived by two sons, Eric (Gina) Brehm of Racine, Kevin (Nadja Wielebnowski) Brehm of Portland, OR; four grandchildren, Riley, Kyra, Nico, Sawyer; eleven siblings, Arnold Richter of Muscoda, Leo Richter of Stoughton, WI, Mary (Tom) Dickinson of Fredericksberg, VA, Bernice (Bill) Jacobs of Franklin, NC, Bertha (Logan) Swinehart of Avoca, WI, Phillip (Jane) Richter of Waterloo, IA, Tom Richter of Arena, WI, Diane (Jim) Kron of Dittmar, MO, Alma (Ernie) Ward of Belmont, WI Pauline (Ray) Richardson of Richland Center, WI, Mark (Joan) Richter of Mazomanie, WI; former husbands, Mike Brehm, Allen Ziegler; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. Many of her friends started off as patients and became dear friends.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Mary (nee: Neff) Richter.
A memorial celebration of Juanita’s retirement from life will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015, 1:00pm, at Roma Lodge, 7130 Spring Street. Sadness is not allowed. Come with joyful stories. If you wear black, you will be required to pick out a colorful scarf or neck tie. The theme is celebration and joy in her retirement. Juanita has directed all memorials to ALSA – Wisconsin Chapter to support local ALS patients. Please use the words “Loan Closet” on the memo of your check.
