Julienne Victoire Marie Vuckovic (nee: Bire) of Ironwood, Michigan, passed away on April 13, 2019 in Trevor, Wisconsin.
Julienne was born on October 21, 1923 to Julien and Madeleine Bire in Lesson (Vendée), France.
She married the love of her life, Karlo Vuckovic on December 5, 1942. In 1951 she and her husband and 4 children came to America on the Queen Elizabeth ship landing at Ellis Island in New York. They then settled in Bessember, MI. In 1953 they moved to Ironwood MI.
Her favorite past time was enjoying her family, especially her grandchildren and the babies. She loved knitting and needle point. She loved cooking for everyone.
She is survived by three daughters, Danielle Lamke of Palisade, MN; Claire Ladewig and Claudette Ewer both of Trevor, WI; four sons, Jackie Vuckovic of Ironwood, MI; Yves (Verna)Vuckovic of Beaver Dam, WI; Guy (Karen) Vuckovic of Ironwood, MI; and Marcel (Nancy) Vuckovic of Ironwood, MI; her daughter-in-law, Ann (Bernard) Vuckovic of Waukesha, Wi; 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; her brother-in-law Hilaire Vernon of France; many nieces and nephews throughout France, Croatia, and other parts of Europe; as well as her best friend, Snoopy.
Julienne was preceded in death by two sons, Jean Claude, and Bernard(Ann); her parents Julien and Madeleine Bire;a daughter-in-law Barbara Chan (Jackie); a son-in-law, Gary (Danielle) Lamke; 2 sisters, Claire (Joseph) Opalinski and Ginette (Hilaire) Vernon.
Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Mary’s Church in Waukesha (225 S Hartwell Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186) on Saturday, April 27, 2019 for a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. A private interment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate in Mom’s name to a rebuilding the Notre Dame Fund or a charity of your choice.
