Kathleen Eleanor Whitson, affectionately known as Kate, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. She was born in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin on August 23, 1930. She was 86 years old.
Kate spent most of her life in Des Plaines, Illinois, where she worked alongside her husband Tom in their auto parts business. In 2002 they moved to Racine to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Kate was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Throughout her life Kate love to be surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed family dinners and entertaining. She was an exceptional bookkeeper and financier with a sharp mind. In the summer you would find her enjoying her beautiful garden. Kate was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a happy caring person who shared her smiles and kindness with everyone.
Left to treasure her memory are her husband, Thomas Whitson of Mt. Pleasant; their daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Paul Wicklein of Trevor, and Deanne and Christopher Auber of Racine; grandsons, Arthur (Karen) Wicklein, Matthew (Sarah) Wicklein, David (Amanda) Auber, and Timothy (Laura) Auber; great-grandchildren; Kate and Luke; sisters, Doris Hermann and Barbara (Ray) Prigge; and sister-in-law, Marie Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Margaret (nee: Neumann) Henquinet; brother, Joseph Henquinet; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Joseph Hammersmith.

Your mom was a lovely lady. She and Tom raised their girls well and as a result, goodness and light ripple throughout WI even now. She will be missed but she is ever present still.
