Racine – Kay Christine Rouse, 73, received the promise of eternal life on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Milwaukee on September 22, 1944, daughter of the late Wynn and Frances (nee: Bartlein) Kemnitz.
Kay was united in marriage to the love of her life, Darrel Lee Rouse, on November 16, 1963, in Mapleton, Wisconsin.
Kay was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She was very active in politics. Kay was a dedicated breeder of Long-haired Miniature Dachshunds. Her companions, Gus and Gretel, have been with her more than a decade and she adored them very much. Kay also found a passion for coloring books when her health started to fail. She would complete as many as three in a day and they were all done beautifully. Above everything, Kay loved her entire family tremendously. She will be dearly missed.
Kay leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Darrel Lee Rouse, Sr.; her daughters, Nadene (James) Foti of Franklin, Maureen (Eric) Ellis of Racine; sons, Andrew (Lita) Rouse of Racine, Aaron (Tania) Rhoads of Fond Du Lac, Adam (Rhonda) Rouse of Christmas, FL, Bart (Anna) Rouse of St. Petersburg, FL, Darrel (Michelle) Rouse, Jr. of Mount Pleasant, Casey (Kimberly) Rouse of Racine, Thomas (Michelle) Rouse of Mount Pleasant, Tristan (Danielle) Rouse of Sturtevant; grandchildren, Dylan, Ryan, Tara, Sarah, Samantha, Rebecca, Benjamin, Jordan, Epiphany, Adeline, Amanda, Derian, Adam, Jr., Brandon, Collin, Breann, Jacob, Lily, Alexandria, Casey, Jr., Emily, Kyah, Isaac, Kaitlynn, Thomas, Jr., Jaqueline, Jayda, James, Damion, Tristan, Jr., Tyler, Hunter; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Klaire (Bill) Blunck; brothers, Kean (Susan) Kemnitz, Kirt (Connie) Kemnitz, Karl (Bonnie) Kemnitz; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives too numerous to mention.
