Kelly John Stellman, 61, passed away to eternal life at Legacy House Hospice in Ocala, FL, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, following complications from cancer. He was born in Racine on August 5, 1958 the son of the late Frank and Jeanne (nee: Hammill) Stellman.
Kelly attended Walden III High School. Kelly was employed by Harris Metals before finding his true vocation and became a master cabinetmaker. He worked for Norden Woodwork Co. in Kenosha for over 24 years, and later at Dickow and Cyzak Tile Co. His reputation as a perfectionist and world class carpenter was proven on many projects.
Kelly grew up in his father’s poolhall, Sailor’s Grille and Recreation in Uptown Racine; he became a professional quality player. Kelly won the Wisconsin State Junior 14-1 Championship in Milwaukee in 1978. He also placed second in the Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament that same year.
Kelly loved music, playing the drums and his base guitar, collecting hundreds of CDs. On October 15, 1988 he was united in marriage to his lifetime soulmate, Dana Christensen, she preceded him in death on May 1, 2014. He always owned a convertible sportscar that he and Dana would drive on the weekends. Their home reflected his woodworking expertise and her sense of sophisticated fashion. Their home was filled with fine pieces of art and wooden structures of meaning and significance. Kelly was well known for his quick smile, witty sense of humor, and attention to every detail.
He was the loving brother of, Kimberly (Scott) Bremer, and Kevin (Rebecca) Stellman, nieces, and nephews, their spouses and children, other relatives and friends.

Kelly was truly an exceptional person and friend. Things were always right when you were with him. What a varied person he was, boxing, cars, pool player, musician, wood worker, antiques, mechanic, traveler, devoted husband and family man.
He was like “The Mayor” every where we went he knew someone.
