
RACINE – Kenneth E. Clark, 81, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, following several strokes. He was born on November 3, 1928, the eldest child of Emil and Lydia (nee: Makovsky) Clark. On August 7, 1954, he was married to Vivian Jones and they raised two daughters. He attended Burbank School and graduated from William Horlick High School. He worked at Progressive Dairy Company before being drafted into the United States Army and served in Korea. He was employed by Wisconsin Electric at the Oak Creek and Pleasant Prairie Power Plants as a Control Room Operator. After his retirement, he was employed for 19 years at Lee’s True Value Hardware, last working in October of 2009. He was an Officer in National Mutual Benefit and a member of VFW Post 10301, Racine Moose Lodge, and First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed bowling, dartball, horseshoes, playing cards, attending concerts and the theater, and working in his yard. Ken had a wonderful wit and was a clever punster. He made us laugh. Ken is survived by Vivian, his wife of 55 years; daughters, Noelle (Michael Kossack) Rooney of Racine and Amy (Rod) White of Thorp; grandchildren, Jessica (Jordan Johnson) Rooney, James Rooney, Kayla White, Cierra Baker, and Richard Kossack; and great- grandchildren, Lydia and Awlynn Johnson. Further survived by brother, Loren (Marge) Clark of Racine; sisters, Shirley (Gerald) Brinkmann of Racine, Carol (Michael) Knight of Union Grove, and Kathie (Bruce) McDonald of Rice Lake; brothers-in-law, Wayne Jones of Houston, Texas and Calvin (RosaLee) Jones of Veradale, Wash.; also nieces and nephews and other relatives; and special friends, Jim and Hilma Hayek and Barbara and the late Jim Kortendick. His Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2009, with Rev. Steve Fringer officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009, in the chapel at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials have been suggested to PBS Channel 10 or the First Presbyterian Church.
