Racine – Kenneth L. Martini; age 83; passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center and was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, April 2, 2015.
Ken was born in Racine on June 22, 1931 to the late Gerino “Ed” and Marion (nee: Brunson) Martini. After attending William Horlick High School, he faithfully served our country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War – mainly in the South Pacific.
On July 4, 1953 in Menominee, Michigan he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Evelyn Mae (nee: Doubek) Martini. Kenny was employed for over 39 years at SC Johnson & Son. With a profound Christian faith and a heart of gold, Kenny was forever giving of himself to others – never expecting anything in return. Faith, family & friends were Kenny’s sole priority in life. He was also a pretty accomplished fisherman. With a tireless work ethic, Kenny loved attending all of his grandchildren’s various activities and assisting family with projects (big & small).
Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Evelyn “Evie” Martini; their sons, Dr. John Martini and Ed Martini; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Martini and Sandy Martini; adored granddaughters, Adrienne, Erica, Katie, Stacy and Angela Martini; brothers, Jack (Teresa), Chuck (JoAnne) and Simon (Barb) Martini; sister, Reggie Martini; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Sandy) and Jerry “Pete” (Delores) Doubek; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many close friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his beloved son, Mark Martini; step-father, Anthony Lencioni; by Evie’s parents, Ed & Clara Doubek; and brother-in-law, Joe Doubek.
Memorial services, with military honors, for Ken will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 6:00 pm. A reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. At Kenny’s request, private interment of his cremated remains will take at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project have been suggested.
A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Mini Sivadasan and to the entire staff at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Cardiovascular ICU for the wonderful care and support given to Ken during the past eight weeks. May God bless all of you!

Ken was a client of mine and it was a blessing to have him periodically come to my office to conduct business. The quality of his values was imbedded in the loving care and commitment he had for his wife and his service to his country. His faith was the bedrock of his life. Comfort will come from the assurance of his heavenly residence. Your loss is significant and I pray that you will feel the tender touch of our Lord as he comforts you.
