Service Details
Her Homegoing Service will be held in the New Omega Missionary Baptist Church, 5731 Northwestern Ave., on Thursday, October 13th, which would have been her 86th birthday, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Daryn D. Crenshaw officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service.
Lena Pearl Evans, 85, formerly of Racine, passed away at the Amazing Grace Adult Care Center, in Milwaukee, on Saturday, October 8, 2022. She was born in Water Valley, Yalobusha County, Mississippi on October 13, 1936, the daughter of the late LaVert Pearson and LaVora Person.
Lena received Christ at an early age in Mississippi. After coming to Racine, she continued her faith under the leadership of Pastor Dorothy Jackson. Lena had been a longtime employee of Racine Die Casting. She loved working the crossword puzzles in the newspaper, fishing, and being with family and friends.
Surviving are four sons, Leon Walls, of Bakersfield, VT, Earwin Walls, of Milwaukee, Darryl Walls, of Racine, and Minister Bobby Walls, of Birmingham, AL; 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, son-in-law, David Fatheree, of Racine. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her. In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her son, George Kelly Pearson; two daughters, Charlene Walls, and Beanie Walls; her siblings, William Pearson, Annie Mae Pearson, Mary Clotteal Jones, Jesse Faye Pearson, and Robert Louis Pearson.
