Racine – Lorraine Ann “Lori” (nee: Glodowski) Schoeffer, 81, passed away at Home Harbor on Sunday, March 22, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer. A lifetime resident, Lorraine was born in Racine on May 4, 1927 to the late Louis and Stella (nee: Wolgot) Glodowski. She was a graduate of Washington Park High School. On March 15, 1952 Lorraine was united in marriage with the love of her life, Bernard A. “Bernie” Schoeffer, who preceded her in death on April 1, 2002. Lorraine was employed by Twin Disc for over 22 years, retiring in 1989. A faithful member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, she enjoyed being involved with the Knights of Columbus-Council 697 Ladies Auxiliary. Lorraine was a member of the Twin Disc 20 Year Club. She had a great appreciation for Lighthouses and had acquired an extensive collection over the years. Among her interests, Lorraine loved travelling with Bernie to Arizona for annual Brewer and Cub spring training camps; trying their luck in Las Vegas; and to beautiful Eagle River twice a year with their family. Above all, Lorraine’s priorities in life were her faith in God and her treasured family. Surviving are her daughter, Karen (Todd) Anderson; son, Randall Schoeffer; grandson, Cory Seymour; sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Glodowski and Anne Bergo; brother-in-law, Philip Schoeffer; special friend, Flo Jordan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Timothy and James Schoeffer; brother, Edwin Glodowski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Mary (nee: Gilitzer) Schoeffer; sister-in-law, Margaret (John) Lamont; and brother-in-law, Francis Schoeffer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 26, 2009 in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., at 11:30 am with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 10-11:30 am. In memory of Lorraine, memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church has been suggested. A special note of thanks to all the residents and staff of Home Harbor for making Mom feel so welcomed and loved during the past two years.
