Racine – Lotte L. Wrenger, 84, passed away at Aurora St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 27, 2011. She was born in Essen, Germany on October 6, 1926, daughter of the late Robert and Berta (nee: Pagel) Wrenger.
Lotte left Germany in 1958 with a friend to live in Canada, and then made Racine her home in 1965. She was employed at Western Publishing as a truck driver for more than 30 years. She enjoyed hard work and loved her job. Lotte was a very independent lady who liked traveling, music and dancing, reminiscing about her German heritage, and living life to the fullest. Many family and friends will treasure her knitted booties and other gifts. She had a very special love for her great-nieces and nephews, and would do anything for them.
Lotte is survived by her brothers, Alfred Wrenger of Caledonia, Robert (Christa) Wrenger, Werner Wrenger, and Willi (Helga Riedel) Wrenger all in Germany; her nieces, Petra (Norman) Walker of Racine, Debbie Bischoff of DeForest, and Patrice (Kurt Baumann) Wrenger of Racine; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Nick Walker, Brittany Walker, Ryan Wrenger, Riley Wrenger, Taylor Wrenger, all of Racine, and Colton Deminter of DeForest; as well as many other relatives and friends both here and in Germany. She was also preceded in death by her dear sister-in-law, Joyce Wrenger.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the funeral home on Friday, July 1, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. for her memorial service with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon. Interment will take place at Caledonia Memorial Park at a later date. Donations to the American Cancer Society in Lotte’s memory have been suggested.
