Maggie Mae (nee: Johnson) Pipkins was born on July 7, 1940 in Enterprise, Mississippi to the union of Booker T. and Pinkie Lee (nee: Beverly) Johnson. She was the youngest of six children.
Maggie received her formal education in Enterprise, MS. School system. She moved to Racine, Wisconsin in the 1950’s. She worked various jobs but she retired after twenty years from CNH Industrial (formerly named J.I Case Corporation).
Maggie believed in Jesus Christ. She was very independent, spunky and selfless. She loved music and enjoyed watching sports (she played basketball in her youth). Maggie also loved cooking, she would often prepare food for the homeless, sometimes putting others needs above her own.
Maggie departed this life on Saturday, November 10, 2018. She was preceded in death by her father, Booker T. Johnson; her mother, Pinkie Lee Johnson; her brothers, Joseph (Eula) Johnson and Horace Johnson and her sisters, Sally Kirkwood and Elizabeth Berry.
Maggie leaves to cherish her memories, her brother: Beverly (Ruth) Johnson of Racine, WI; daughter, Vicki Pipkins-Mahdi of Racine, WI; son, Chris (Donna) Pipkins of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Fredricka (Del-Ray) Hunter, Yasin Mahdi, Naimah Mahdi, Ayshia Wright, all of Racine, WI. and Aftin Locks, Paris (Quincy) LaGrant and Kia Semons-Booker all of Milwaukee, WI; great-grandchildren, Asia Hunter, Khalilah Hunter, Asanjai Hunter, Mason LaGrant, (Baby Girl) LaGrant and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, acquaintances and friends that she cherished.
A visitation will be held to Celebrate Her Life on Monday, November 19, 2018, 4:00 – 7:00pm in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI.
