Racine – Margaret Rose (nee: Williams) Harris was born March 16, 1939 in Stonewall, Mississippi to Rosie Lee Williams and Hartzel Davis. She was the youngest of three children.
Margaret accepted Christ as The Lord and Savior of her life. She was baptized at a young age at Little Zion Methodist Church, Stonewall, Mississippi and went on to become a member of Midtown Church of Christ.
Margaret was a classy woman who loved to dress, with an amazing personality and smile that could light up any room. She loved to listen to music and dance (She could drop it like it’s hot with the best of them). She would keep you laughing with her quick wit, and boy, did she love those Green bay Packers “Go Pack Go”. Margaret really enjoyed taking road trips with her family, fishing and cooking soul food.
Margaret was united in marriage to Joseph “Johnny Man” Marsh, to this union six children were born. In 2002 she was united in holy matrimony to Randy Harris.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, husband Randy Harris; three daughters Denise (Billy) Crocker, Elizabeth (Ernest) Powell and Lura (Jeff) Mcwhorter; two sons Augie and Scottie Marsh; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother Charles “ Sunny Boy” Wainwright; brothers-in-law Jack (Ruby) Marsh and Frank (Phyllis) Marsh; sister-in-law Freeda Dadzie, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends too numerous to mention by name.
Margaret Rose (nee: Williams) Williams peacefully transitioned on February 17, 2020 with her family at her bedside. She was preceded her in death by one daughter, Judy Marsh; mother Rosie Lee Williams; sister Lillie Cochran; brother Robert “Houston” Williams; father Hartzel Davis; brothers Floyd Davis and E.W. Wainwright; sisters Eula Faye Manuel, Ora Lee Portis and Carolyn Hand; first husband Joseph Marsh; mother-in-law Idell Marsh; brother-in-law Bentley Marsh; sisters-in-law Ida Mae Lott, Mattie Jones and Elsie Roberson and a special friend Lottie White.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 11:00am at Wayman AME Church, 424 N. Memorial Dr., Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the church from 10:00am until the time of service.
