Giving condolences to DeAndrae and Woods family. I have known Marilyn Woods since the age of 15yrs old. I met her in 1985, and what memories I will cherish and brings a smile to my face is her, “Slow-Mo Air Fist Pumps,” when she hears her favorite song. Her many Expresses of love for her Beloved son DeAndrae and grandchildren.” REAL LOVE” is a song she loved by Skyy. “TELL ME” by Dru Hill. If you listen to the words of those songs from the RB genre, it told you alot about the character of this beautiful women – Marilyn Woods, she is described in a four letter word and that is “Love” I’ve come to learn through-out my 30something years of knowing her; being around her, talking to her, laughing with her, crying with her and sharing part of my growth with her. She taught me a lot about life and love and what it means to be loved sometimes she was strict with me but still it’s a lesson to be learned from. I loved her so much that even the words on this page, not an excessive, isn’t enough. And though the songs may have changed her mood her son lit her world. The love in her eyes, the many times I heard her call his name and each and every one of her grandchildren names. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and i had the pleasure of witnessing them grow from youth during life journey of knowing her. Peace of heavenly tunes as she sung around the house offering me my favorite dish of hers “Chicken& Rice “Jesus love me” and yes, Jesus loves her for the Bible told her so and I know that it holds true for the Angel she was and I will miss her more than I can ever express. And I will always be your Krissy, Christela every endearment pet name she called me and I will never forget it. I will never forget calling you just so we can laugh on how Pooh-man got his nickname. She taught me to be a lady, and still that way, lean on God and pray in all I do. I was taught so much and the focus still, no matter what, was, is and forever will be “Love” which is- The Essence of Marilyn (Ma’Merl) Woods.
