
Sturtevant – Mark C. Poppelman, 69, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 following a 7 month battle with acute myeloid leukemia. He was born in Racine on December 18, 1946, son of the late Carl and Eva (nee: Daams) Poppelman. Mark was a 1965 graduate of Wm. Horlick High School, and then served in the US Army from 1966 – 1968. On August 2, 1975 in Calvary Baptist Church he was married to Phyllis (nee: Molsbee) Walley.
Mark was employed at Walker Manufacturing and Milch Interstate Electric. Later he spent 16 years at Western Publishing until he retired in 2005. In 1979 he purchased a brand new Pontiac Trans Am which still occupies a revered place in his garage. Mark enjoyed attending car shows and auto auctions, listening to Country music, being with his family and his K9 sons, Sammy and Benji.
Mark is survived by his wife, Phyllis Poppelman; his sons, Chad Poppelman and Christopher (Theresa) Walley; grandchildren Jessica and Ryne Walley; brother, Roger Poppelman; special friends, Jim Smith, Ray Perala, and Dawn LeAnna; as well as many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Cathy Poppelman; and brother-in-law, Steve Molsbee.
Memorial services for Mark will be held in the funeral home at 7pm on Friday, April 8, 2016 with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Visitation will begin at 5pm and continue until 7pm. Private interment with military honors will be conducted on Saturday morning.
Mark’s family extends their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Ryan Engel, the staff at All Saints Cancer Center, and All Saints Hospital floor 3B; Dr. Karen Carlson, and the staff at Froedtert Hospital 4 North Tower. The care that they provided to Mark and our family will be remembered always.

I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort from Gods Word where it promises that death will be no more and that we will see our loved ones again by means of a resurrection (Revelation 21:4, Acts 24:15). My heartfelt sympathy for the family during this difficult time.
